The Australian PMI Council, a body made up of all the local PMI Chapters in Australia, has moved to recognise the efforts of project managers and PMI members in Australia by creating the “PMI Australian Professional Awards”.

And you could be the recipient of Australia’s most prestigious individual award for project managers as well as win a prize to the value of $4,000.

The Project Manager of the Year award is open to any Project Manager working in Australia who has completed (or practically completed) a project (or major section of a Project) in the 12 months preceding the award cut off date (26th June 2006) and who is a PMI member.

Closing date for nominations is 26 June 2006

The PMOTY winner will receive:
 
1. A perpetual trophy (engraved with the Winner’s name) to be held for one year and a commemorative plaque engraved with the Winner’s name, 
 
2. Travel, accommodation and registration to the PROMAC conference (to a total value of $4,000.00). Sydney resident winners will receive a credit to the value of $2000 to be used to attend an additional conference within the year
 
The finalists for PMOTY will also receive an award certificate, and additional tangible awards from their chapters
 
The 2006 Awards presentation will be made at a formal Dinner on 26 September 2006 in Sydney. This will be the headline event for the forthcoming PROMAC 06 Project Management Conference to be held in Sydney in 27-29 September 2006. http://www.promac2006.com/home.asp 


PMI Distinguished Contribution Awards Year Awards - 2006
 
Do you know a Project Management Professional that has made a significant contribution to the development of PMI in Australia and Internationally?

Become the third recipient of PMI Australia’s most prestigious award for distinguished contribution to the advancement of the PMI in Australia and internationally.

Register your Chapter, SIG or College colleague for the 2006 award by completing the nomination form and they have the opportunity to win a prize worth $4,000.

The individual may have contributed to the development of a new chapter, and/or SIG, and/or College have had an ongoing significant role in the development and management of an existing Chapter, SIG or College, or have had an ongoing significant role in the education and development of the Project Management Profession.
