2006 – Project Manager of the Year Winner
 
 
The 2006 Project Manager of the Year is Jason Millett and the runner up is David Wolfram.
  
Jason Millett won the 2006 PMOTY award for his excellence in delivering the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, National CommSee Rollout Program as part of the “Which New Bank’ service transformation project. This project involved a national infrastructure replacement combined with a new customer management system, as well as a very significant training and change management effort. The award which focuses on the Project Manager recognises Jason for his exceptional leadership skills to inspire and motivate over 200 internal staff and suppliers providing approximately 500 staff to deliver this large business transformation program within 18 months. Jason has over 20 years of project management experience gained in the Royal Australian Navy and in the commercial financial sector.

David Wolfram from Infosys Technologies Melbourne was recognised for meeting the challenge of bringing a large portfolio (330+ resources located in Australia and India) from level 1 (initial) to CMMI level 5 (optimising). Level 5 is the highest level of this well known and highly rigorous quality improvement framework in the IT industry.

The 2006 DCA Award winner is John Flynn and the runner up is John Katsiris, both from the PMI Sydney Chapter.
 

John Flynn was recognised for his contribution to project management education both at Sydney University as well as in the corporate sector. He is an active member of the PMI Sydney Chapter and has contributed to the significant growth of the organisation through its extensive publication record, highlighting the services and benefits that PMI can offer to its members. 

John Katsiris has also made a significant contribution to the Project Management profession through his development of certification activities for the PMI Sydney Chapter. In 2005, the chapter recorded a 40% growth in the number of members gaining their Project Management Professional (PMP) certification - the pre-eminent and internationally recognised Project Management accreditation standard.
