  • Volunteers sought to represent Australia on New International Project Management Standard !
    Standards Australia is representing Australia on a new International Standards Initiative to develop an ‘ISO Standard for Project Management’. The Australian committee is now looking for volunteers to serve on one of three working groups contributing to the development of the document. Nominations of suitably qualified individuals are being sought from a cross-section of industries that practice project management to contribute to the development of the ISO Standard as subject matter experts. Individual nominations will be selected based on experience and the existing constitution of the working groups.  Working Group members will be required to participate in various face-to-face and teleconference meetings on an as-needed basis, in addition to several hours working participation each month.

    Applicants should consider the required time commitments before nominating.

PMI Launches Practice Standard for Scheduling!

The PMI recently launched a Practice Standard for Scheduling to complement the Time Management area of the PMBOK Guide. Effective project scheduling and time management are critical to the success of a project.

The standard outlines best practices on developing an effective schedule and provides a quantifiable means for assessing the maturity of a schedule.
