The PMP certification demonstrates to current and potential employers that you possess solid experience and specific education in project management, which can have a positive impact on the bottom line results of existing and potential employers.

The PMI Melbourne Chapter provides local members with access and support to obtain PMP certification through a number of ways:

• A local alumni network of qualified PMPs and others in the process of applying for PMP certification.
   
• PMI members benefit from discounted certification examination fees and can take advantage of preparation materials and training courses offered through PMI Melbourne and other component organisations. To date PMI Melbourne is able to provide study group members with 2 complete PMI certification sets of information on loan as well as numerous articles which are circulated at study group sessions.
   
• Access and the ability to download the Certification Handbook (in PDF format) (from the PMI HQ site Professional Development - Certifications - CAPM section) and PMI Certification Program-specific products (including advice of changes and updates to certification).
