Introduction to PMI and Certifications Session
A half-day introduction to the PMI and its PMP and CAPM certification processes is held prior to each certification training series. It is designed for those interested in finding out about the benefits of PMI membership and its certifications. The session also explains how a Melbourne Chapter training series may help you if you’re considering a PMI certification.

Controlling the Project

Projects get behind one day at a time. Learn what the PMBOK describes as a sound framework for project governance. Also includes the closing processes for sub-contract and project acceptance.

Trial PMP Exam

Provides an excellent trial of your knowledge and preparedness for the PMP Examination. This trial exam has been proven effective by hundreds. This session also includes the Professional Responsibility area of PMBOK

Practical PMP ('Blended')
Our 'Practical' courses use a carefully structured ‘Blended’ delivery system designed to optimise classroom time and the overall learning process. Workshop days at the beginning and end of the program are complemented by 11 weekly cycles of ‘Mentored Email’™ based learning. This combination of face-to-face and self-paced learning offers the ideal combination of delivery options for mature students as well as providing a very time effective solution for busy people needing to balance career development with work pressures and a social life.

The 'Introductory Workshop' is a full day. This workshop is designed to set the scene and develop group rapport for the balance of the course. The day is used to teach some key topics that benefit from the use of a white board and face-to-face instruction including critical path analysis (CPA) and Earned Value as well as allowing the group’s mentor and trainees to get to know each other.

During the 'distance' component of the course, modules are forwarded on a weekly basis. Each module includes the delivery of reference materials, followed by test questions and feedback on the answers provided. The three components of each module are designed to work together to reinforce the student's learning. As the course progresses, questions test the student's knowledge of previous modules as well as the current one.

Regular feedback is provided to each trainee showing their overall score against each of the topics. This helps highlight areas of strength and areas needing more study. An email based support service is available to help trainees with any questions they may have and to provide additional guidance as needed.

The course materials build into a comprehensive manual for revision and future reference. As part of the course fees, you are provided with a complete index system and two binders to store the printouts from each module.

A mid course support day (4 Hrs) helps to reinforce the group and provide a friendly place to ask questions and discuss topics of interest.

Revision and a trial examination are included in the last day. This session rounds out the course and facilitates any last questions and discussion points prior to the trainees sitting their examination. The other major advantage of the last day is to set a deadline for the completion of the self-paced component of the course, we know this helps many of our students to wrap up their learning!

Passing your examination requires skill in answering PMI's multiple choice questions - the 400+ questions included in this course provides all of the practice needed to hone your skills and maximise you chance of success (and if 400 questions are not sufficient, we have an extra 100 question tests available if needed!).

The email based support service remains available to help trainees with any last minute questions before their examination.

Intensive PMP Courses
These courses are designed for managers in a hurry - you will undertake a complete PMP Exam Prep course in 5 days! Courses start on Monday and finish on Friday. There are 7 contact hours scheduled for each day (plus lunch and refreshment breaks) and additional reading is required each evening (a paper copy of the PMBOK is essential). You will be working hard, but if you can stand the pace all of the information needed to pass the PMP examination will be yours within a week.

Each day includes a small test exam, several modules of training plus some group an individual exercises to help break up the intensity of the sessions. The final day includes a complete revision session plus a 100 question trial examination.

As part of your course, you are provided with a comprehensive manual including a complete index system. The manual is essential for revision and for future reference. The only compromise made in designing the intensive course, compared to our longer blended course, is the number of questions you will answer during the course. However, if you feel you need more practice we have an extra 100 question tests available to try as part of your pre-exam revision.

After completing this course, we recommend taking your PMP exam within the next couple of weeks for the best chance of success. Allowing a few days for revision beforehand will ensure you are ready and confident to apply all you have learnt. Our email support service will assist with any questions you may have during this period.
