Program requirements and eligibility standards are applied fairly, impartially and are consistent with applicable laws. Candidate applying must satisfy the education and experience requirements for one of the following
categories and agree to abide by the Project Management Professional Code of Professional Conduct. There are two categories:

Category 1:
At the time of application:
- The candidate holds a baccalaureate or equivalent university degree
- A minimum of 4,500 hours of project management experience within the 5 process groups* with a minimum of three 3 years of project management experience within the 8 year period prior to application
- At least 36 unique (non-overlapping) months of project management experience on the Experience Verification Form(s) to satisfy the 3 year requirement
- At least 35 contact hours of specific instruction that addresses learning objectives in project management. Document all project management education hours, regardless of when they were accrued. The course work must be completed at the time of application. The course hours may include content on project quality, scope, time, cost, human resources, communications, risk, procurement and integration management.

- A copy of diploma or transcript for baccalaureate or equivalent university degree
- Experience Verification Form(s) meeting criteria listed

Category 2:
At the time of application:
- The candidate does not hold a baccalaureate or equivalent university degree but a high school diploma or equivalent secondary school credential
- Has a minimum of 7500 hours of project management experience within the 5 process groups* within the 8 year period prior to the application
- At least 60 unique (non-overlapping) months of project management experience on the Experience Verification Form(s) to satisfy the 5 year requirement
- At least 35 contact hours of specific instruction that addresses learning objectives in project management. Document all project management education hours, regardless of when they were accrued. The course work must be completed at the time of application. The course hours may include content on project quality, scope, time, cost, human resources, communications, risk, procurement and integration management.
