PMI Melbourne provides the gateway to a huge range of project management resources. Locally, members have access to tailored training and study groups, texts and events. They also have the opportunity to develop and expand their existing project management networks through these activities.
Internationally, members can access a number of resources, as described below.
The PMI
Online Bookstore offers an extensive and up-to-date source of project management books, downloads and interactive media. PMI member discounts are offered on the latest project management books, 'best sellers' and 'special' publications located on the site.
PMI Members have access through the PMI website under “Publications & Information Resources” to PMI’s Knowledge & Wisdom Center. This includes a keyword-searchable knowledgebase, “eReads and Reference”: an online library of over 200 Project Management books and related titles, an online form to ask an information specialist a question, and a shop for PMI publications.
PMI Career Headquarters is available from the PMI GOC web
site Professional Development & Careers section. It is particularly useful for PMI members considering international positions, seeking international career benchmarks or opportunities as it allows employers and job seekers to:
- access/list jobs or resumes on line (free of charge);
- access job seeker or employer resources, rates and packages
- access professional development resources and career-related articles
PMI Melbourne has an active events calendar throughout the year, however members may also attend chapter meetings and events in other states and/or countries to access state-of-the-art best practices or knowledge in project management. The
PMI World Seminars Calendar schedules future seminar dates and locations for up to 2 years ahead of the current calendar year. Members who attend benefit from discounted rates.
